We have recently become aware that some MP3 track tags written by certain versions of Musicmatch are not compatible with the Microsoft Windows Media SDK, which was used as the architectural basis for the play engine in YMJ.
This can cause some MP3 files which used to play in Musicmatch to fail to play in YMJ or Windows Media Player.
We are working on a fix for this within YMJ, but if you need to get past this issue immediately, and you still have MMJB installed, you can open MMJB, go to the Library view, and for each track which exhibits this behavior right click on them and choose Edit->Remove Track Tags. You can do this in bulk by multi-selecting all your files and doing this. After this is done, the tracks will become playable in YMJ. However, all metadata will of course be lost. YMJ will attempt to restore metadata to these files using Gracenote lookup in a background process if you leave YMJ open overnight.
The fix we are working on within YMJ will clear these track tags and re-write them with metadata obtained directly from the Musicmatch database. So if you wait for the official fix, you will not lose your track metadata (provided you used the Musicmatch migration wizard).
Sorry for the inconvenience.
